Audi is hard at work building a range of new electric and hybrid cars. In fact, the German brand won’t release any new cars with internal-combustion engines after 2026. Read on for a full rundown on what to expect over the next few years.

The new Audi A6 e-tron is just around the corner, and this new electric saloon will be packed with new technology.

It’ll look nothing like today’s Audi A6 saloon. Picture ultra-thin LED headlights and a full-width light bar at the rear making it look much more futuristic.

The new car will come with a 100kWh battery giving it as much as 430 miles of range. Expect to see the new A6 e-tron on sale later in 2023.

The new Audi Q6 e-tron is due to be revealed early this year, and it’s an electric SUV that’ll sit below the Q8 e-tron in the Audi range.

It’ll get a similar blanked-off grille to the Q8 and Q4 e-tron, as well as sleek LED headlights like the Audi A6 e-tron concept.

It also gets the same 100kWh battery as the A6 e-tron, which may yield up to 400 miles of range.

The new Audi A4 will be one of the last Audis available with a petrol or diesel engine, although an all-electric e-tron version will be available at a later date.

Expect to see a similar range of petrol and diesel engines to the current A4, as well as some plug-in hybrid variants. The 2.9-litre non-hybrid V6 in the current RS4 is likely to get the chop though, possibly in favour of a new electrified setup.

This new A4 is likely to go on sale later in 2023, after being revealed as early as the spring.

Another new EV from Audi, the A6 Avant e-tron, should make its debut by the end of 2023 after the A6 e-tron saloon.

It’ll look nothing like the current A6 though, and there won’t be any internal combustion engines offered. You get a new front end with slim headlights, as well as a full-width light bar at the rear.

This new EV is also expected to be fitted with a 100kWh battery which should be good for 435 miles of range. The new A6 Avant e-tron will also spawn an all new RS model further down the line.

A facelifted version of the Audi A3 has been spotted testing. It’s under cover for now, however it looks as though changes to this premium hatchback will be subtle.

There appears to be a new grille up front, with a horizontal bar splitting it in two. The front and rear bumpers are likely to be changed as well, as will the LED light signatures.

Expect to see the new Audi A3 revealed later this year, with sales starting soon after.

Photos of the new, heavily camouflaged Audi Q5 emerged late last year, and it looks like it’ll retain a similar look to the current car. It’ll get all new bumpers though, as well as a huge grille and slim LED lights.

Like the forthcoming Audi A4, the new Q5 will be available with a range of petrol and plug-in hybrid engines, and possibly some diesel engines. There are no plans for an all-electric Q5 at this point.

The takeover of EVs in Audi’s range doesn’t mean the death of fast RS cars, but it could spell the end of non-hybrid 2.9-litre V6s and 4.0-litre V8s.

The new Audi RS6 Avant e-tron is likely to be the first of these high-performance electric cars, and these exclusive renders give you a peek at what it may look like. Expect it to get more aggressive-looking bumpers than the A6 Avant e-tron, as well as a lowered ride height.

It could have almost 800hp and 1,000Nm of torque but don’t expect to see this car revealed until well into 2025.

The Audi Grand Sphere concept gives you an idea of what the next Audi A8 will look like. It’s sporting a sleeker, more coupe-esque shape than the current car, and it’s crammed with clever technology.

This luxury saloon could pack up to 720hp, get up to 470 miles of range as well as level four self-driving systems. This means it can drive itself in most (but not all) situations with human supervision.

It’s unlikely that this technology will be ready for a good few years, but you can expect this new saloon to get some of the most advanced driver assistance tech ever when it goes on sale after 2025.

The Audi Sky Sphere concept was revealed back in 2021, and this super-futuristic roadster is packing some very clever features.

For starters, it can extend its wheelbase to aid high-speed stability, as well as getting the same autonomous driving tech as the Grand Sphere.

Don’t get your wallets out just yet though – this new drop-top is unlikely to make production, at least not in its current state.

The Audi Active Sphere is the latest in the lineup of Sphere concepts, and it’s a jacked-up coupe designed for going off-road. It looks a bit like an Audi RS7, however it’s closer to the Audi Q8 in size.

The rear end can convert into a pickup bed by folding the window up over the roof, with space to carry electric bikes, and there’s even a ski rack which folds out of the roof.

The Active Sphere gets a 100kWh battery which Audi claims will give it a range of “well over” 372 miles. As for performance, it has dual motors which produce 442hp and 720Nm of torque, enough to accelerate from 0-60mph in 4.9 seconds.
